The Expendables

“The Expendables” is an action movie that was created by the action star Sylvester Stallone, the movies cast is packed full of famous action movie stars and there’s nothing to it but sheer entertainment for every action movie fan out there. If you love action movies, come see this box office movie ASAP!Hmmnn…but then again, it’s not a perfect film. This upcoming movie demands that you set aside some of your reservations about quality and just accept it as it is because it certainly has some faults. The film is obviously held back by its low budget and there’s way too much CGI blood. The characters are not well defined and the acting is so-so in many cases. However, Stallone, the master of gore and violence, is so good at putting together action that it makes the movie worth flying shark balloon seeing. And then there’s the movies cast of Austin, Li, Lundgren, air angry bird Crews, Willis, Schwarzenegger, Rourke, Couture and Statham that….need I say more?So it was at first worrisome that perhaps the only good thing about “The Expendables” was its cast. But no worries. This movie would have been just fine with a bunch of unknown actors. It turns out that the fabulous cast doesn’t affect “The Expendables” as much as one might think, although it’s certainly a thrill to see them all in one movie. The script revolves around a bunch of mercenary soldiers who go to South America to overthrow a dictator. It’s not a strong script but, hey, this is an action movie. The script allows for plenty of action by our action “heroes” and that’s what counts. They get the bad guys with explosions and stabbings and all sorts of other violence. Unfortunately, it takes a long time to get to the meat of the movie, the action scenes, and there’s way too much CGI blood and flames. “The Expendables” tends to be reminiscent of a movie on the Sci-Fi channel air swimmers and this is not a good thing. But if you’re into enormous amounts of blood, gore, shooting, slashing, grenades, severed limbs and just plain old violence, this is the show for you! By the end of the movie you’ll feel knee deep in blood and body parts. And that cast alone is worth the wait on line in the heat of summer. Unfortunately for Stallone, the studio that’s doing most of the financing for the Expendables, Nu Image, is known chiefly for its low budget movies that usually never even make the theaters – they just go straight to video stores. “The Expendables” is not going to do anything to give Nu Image a new image. If you’re a big fan of blood, violence and action, Flying angry bird slashed throats, body parts and death in all its bloodiest forms, get yourself to your local theater now to see Sylvester Stallone’s “ project on the new movies list today: “The Expendables”!
